The Law Society is the professional organisation for solicitors in NSW with two primary areas of responsibility, namely that occupied by its statutory obligations to regulate solicitors and that which comprises its representative functions under its Memorandum of Association. The objectives of which include; the promotion of law reform, representation on the views of the profession; preservation of its integrity and status and suppression of dishonourable conduct or practices.
